Dec, 10th It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

Tonight our family, the Odom 4 and 2 boys from the dorm walked down the street to the winter festival. It was over 50 degrees out and the perfect night to go snow tubing, ice skating, along with expelling tons of pent up energy. We enjoyed old Korean style ice boarding. Instead of ice skates, you kneel on a board and try to pull yourself along the ice with two wooden poles equipped with a sharp nail. Not only was it more work then play, but it seemed to be high on the danger list. I cannot imagine anywhere in the US that children would be allowed to gather with small weapons for pure amusement. I was very thankful when I knew it would only be our small party on the ice, as I am sure there would have been at least a few accidental stabbings had it been busy.

Yes even Jeffrey tried it out!!

Yah my knee just LOVED this!!!

Tyson had a lot more fun being pulled across the ice.

After the workout on the Korean ice boards, it was time for some fast action fun.I was the only one who screamed the first time down, but it was so much fun. I thought for sure that Tyson would chicken out, but he was the first and last one down. I lost count as to how many times he sailed down the man made snow covered hill.

Tonight was also the first time Tyson has ever gone ice skating. He begged us to take him last year, but with everything that was going on with my knee, it wasn’t possible.
Right from the start he looked like a little pro!

After everyone had their fill on the ice, it was time to go see Santa. From the way the building was set up, I think they were expecting a lot more of a line. With no other visitors, we were able to walk though and take our time with jolly old Saint Nick. It was not until later that I found out Matthew had quite the eye for one of Santa’s elves.

Jeff was a very happy man, except it wasn't Diet.

Tyson was very happy about writing his letter asking for Legos, a new toy motorcycle, a fish and a new train.
